Alfred Lee Manning, Jr. "Jimmy", 59, of Olean Road, Ripplemead, departed this life Thursday evening, October 16, 2014, at his home. Born in Pearisburg on March 31, 1955, he was a son of the late Alfred Sr. and Irene Lucas Manning. He was a 1975 graduate of Giles High School, and operated Mannings Grocery in Goldbond.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters and brothers-in-law Teretha "Wessie" Manning Goodwin and Donald of Kire and Brenda Manning Sessor and JB of Olean Road, Goldbond; his nephew C J Williams; his aunts Dorothy Snider, Helen Counts and Darla; a special friend Becky Bird and many beloved cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Saturday. A funeral service will follow the visitation. Burial will be in the Lucas Family Cemetery at Goldbond. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
