Alice Louise Kast, 91, of the Clendennin Community, Narrows, departed this life at her home, in the loving care of her family, about noon, Wednesday, November 12, 2014. She was born in Princeton, WV on April 15, 1923, a daughter of the late Robert Cloyd Lafon and Birdie Mae Baird Lafon. She spent her early childhood in Waiteville, WV in the loving care of her grandmother, Alice Louvinia Camper Lafon. Since 1940 she has been a member of the Family of Faith at what is now Bethel Chapel in Clendennin where she has made her home since 1951. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Clarence Joseph Kast (whom she married 75 years ago), her children Ruth Evangeline Kast Martin, Paul Joseph Kast Sr., Richard Lee Kast Sr., Norman Eugene Kast, and Carylon Christine Kast.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons Memphus J. Kast (Betty) of Narrows, Arnold W. Kast (Connie) of Oakvale,WV, Clarence J. Kast Jr. (Penny) of Narrows; her daughters Rachel K. Tate of Narrows, Janet K. Bachelder (Tony) of Strong, ME, Barbara K. Elliott (Dennis) of Narrows, Gloria R. Kast of Narrows (her devoted caregiver in the home); her twenty-eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 17, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Angels Rest Memory Gardens at Narrows. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from five until seven pm.
