Alvin Leon Lucas, 67, of Branch Road, Big Stony Creek, Ripplemead, VA departed this life Wednesday morning, January 30, 2019 in the care of Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem. Born in Pearisburg on October 6, 1951 he was a son of the late Charles William and Lettie Mae Price Lucas. He was a 1970 Giles High School graduate and of New River Community College, and had earlier been employed as a machinist.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law Roger Lee and Kay Lucas of Pearisburg and Gene D. and Ruth Lucas of Botetourt Co. and his sister and brother-in-law Eleanor and Robert Jenkins of Charlottesville, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 11:00 am in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St in Pembroke with burial following in the Kire Community Cemetery on Big Stony Creek.
