IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Annette Marie
Sarver
December 1, 1956 – December 2, 2024
Annette Marie Sarver, a beloved mother, grandmother, companion, and sister, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, at the age of 68, in Pembroke, Virginia. Born on December 1, 1956, in Blacksburg, Virginia, Annette's life was characterized by her joyful spirit, love for her family, and her many passions.
Annette's early years were spent in the mountains of Newport, Virginia where family and work took her to various places over time. She was a hard worker, thrived in everything she pursued -a substitute teacher, coached girls sports, leader of training development at Bank of America, and worked tirelessly, but passionately in the nursing field.
She loved to travel, read Nicholas Sparks books, and attend estate sales looking for antiques she and Ken could restore together. Her culinary skills were unmatched, with a specialty for baking and decorating elaborate cakes for birthdays, bake sales, and weddings. The kitchen was her "Happy Place," especially teaching her grandkids how to cook and entertain.
Above all, Annette cherished the time spent with her beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth and William Lugar. She was a constant presence in their lives, offering love, wisdom, and the kind of hugs that only a grandmother can give. Her laughter and stories will be a source of comfort to them as they remember her fondly.
Annette is survived by her devoted son, Chris Lugar, and daughter, Amy Rebecca Lugar (Tony Johnson). They will hold dear the love and memories shared with their Mother. Her life companion, Ken Kelley, will miss her companionship and the light she brought into his life over many years. Annette's siblings, Steven Sarver (Jackie), Larry Sarver (Elsie), and Vickie Stebar, will remember their sister's spirit and the good times they had together. Her nieces and nephews, Renee Stebar, Michael Stebar, Matthew Sarver, Angela Critchley, Latasha Ramsey, and Jonathan Sarver, will retain fond memories of their aunt's kindheartedness.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents, William Sarver and Louella Townley Sarver of Newport, Virginia.
As we bid farewell to Annette Marie Sarver, we reflect on the love she shared, and the impact she made on each of us. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and her spirit will continue to guide us.
