Arnold Duane Hetherington, 72, of the Hoges Chapel Community at Pembroke died Saturday morning October 20, 2007 at his home. Born in Eggleston on October 7, 1935, he was a son of the late James Lewis and Pansy Collins Hetherington. Duane was a member of Wesley's Chapel United Methodist Church at Trigg, was a graduate of Eggleston High School, retired from the U S Air Force with twenty years service, and was retired from RAAP as power house operator. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Timothy Hetherington, a daughter-in-law Angela Niece Hetherington, grandsons Joshua Hetherington and Shawn Michael Hetherington.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of over fifty years Connie Kerr Hetherington; a son Mark A. Hetherington of Dublin; three grandchildren Ashley Hetherington, Justin Hetherington, and Lacey Weddell.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 PM in The Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church at Hoges Chapel with Pastor Bill Greer and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Entombment will follow in Birchlawn Abbey at Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at The Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
