Audrey Virginia Woods, 92, of Christiansburg, departed this life Monday evening, March 10, 2014, in the care of Heritage Hall Blacksburg. Born in Kire in Giles County on August 27, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Leonard Jackson and Mary Blanche Martin Lafon. She spoke often of her childhood as "special" and treasured the memory of her parents, especially her mother who she always referred to as "my dear mother". Audrey always cherished her precious Jacqline, a child she kept for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy A. Woods, her brother Berlin Eugene Lafon, and sisters Geneva Lafon, Evelyn Lafon, Lethie Lafon Peck, Ella Lafon Spangler, Christina Lafon, and her niece Lois Lafon Thomas.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews; Judy and Charles Hager, Linda Crane, Barbara Lambert, Betty Lafon, Delena Caroline St. Clair and Roy"s niece Iris and Jim Simpkins. Nephews; Jack Lafon, Franklin and Stella Lafon, Alvie and Frances Lafon, Ed and Jean Lafon; and special friends Sue Short and all her caregivers especially Samantha and ester.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following at Sunset Cemetery at Christiansburg.
