Barbara Dickerson Hoge, 76, of Pembroke, Virginia departed this life on Monday, January 21, 2008 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.. Born in Montgomery County, Virginia on September 24, 1931 she was a daughter of the late William Mullins and Pearl Reed Dickerson. She had been employed The First National Exchange Bank (NBB) before her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard T. Hoge, her son John Hoge, and her sisters Josephine Weddle and Virginia Jordan.

She leaves to love and cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law Marie Hoge-Perkins and Kenneth B. Perkins; two grandchildren Drew Hoge Perkins and Whitney Hoge Perkins all of Prospect, Virginia; sisters, Beulah Grissom , Betty Crouch, and Jane Lane; brother, Ray Dickerson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara also leaves behind a close church family at Calvary Christian Church in Pembroke, wonderful friends from Giles County plus new friends from Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church and from the Prospect Community. And, there is one little Dachshund named Albert that will really miss her.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 11:00 AM at The Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to the Pembroke Charities, P.O.
