Barron Elliott Gilmer, beloved son of Braxton and Lola Gilmer of Pearisburg, was called home on October 4, 2026. Barron was deeply loved and eagerly awaited by his parents and family. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved him.
He was born at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center weighing 7 pounds, 15 ounces. Barron was a beautiful little boy who was prayed for and loved beyond measure.
Barron leaves behind his loving parents, Braxton and Lola Gilmer; his grandparents, Billy and Lisha Farrier, Brock Gilmer, and Amy Burdette (Dennis); great-grandparents Fred and Sandra Young, Frank Farrier, Patricia Wilson (Rick), and Buck Gilmer; aunts and uncles Odessa Farrier, Owen Farrier, Madyson Gilmer, Brooklynn Mustain (John), and Austin Burdette; great-aunts and uncles Marty Farrier, Leah Young (Rich), Eli Wilson (Jasmin), Katie Allgood (Kevin), Pam Monk, Renee Altizer (Denny), and Ryan Gilmer. Barron was predeceased by his great-grandparents Ken and Kay Rakes and Joye Gilmer.
There are no words to express how deeply Barron will be missed. His family will carry the love they have for him in their hearts forever. His life was brief, but his impact was profound.
A private graveside service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Giles County Christian Service Mission/512 Good Pantry, 516 Wenonah Avenue, Pearisburg, VA 24134 or to a charity of your choice.
