Bertha Lee Dunigan, 80, of Church Avenue in Pearisburg passed from this life on Friday afternoon February 3, 2006 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center at Radford. Born in Bland County on March 29, 1925 she was a daughter of the late Wiley Mason and Beulah Lambert Stowers. She was a beloved homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother; a graduate of Rocky Gap High School; and a member of Castle Rock Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter Betty Jean Dunigan Hammons Snider.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband Clifford L. Dunigan to whom she would have been married sixty years on June 1st; a son William C. "Butch" Dunigan of Pearisburg, a daughter Linda Sue Rhodes of Pearisburg, three grandchildren Regina Lynn Harless, Anthony Blake Hammons, Donnie Dewayne Rhodes; two great-grandchildren Kaitlynn Jean Marie Harless and Ethan Mark Harless.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday February 6, 2006 at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with The Rev. Phillip Moran officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Bertha's memory to the Pearisburg Volunteer Fire Department Building Fund.
