BETTY DELORES MARTIN, 80, of Ripplemead, departed this life for her heavenly home at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg Wednesday afternoon, October 19, 2016. She was born in Sullivan County, Tennessee on September 15, 1936. Since early childhood she was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead, devoting her life to Christian work and her family. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Worley and Dorothy Denton Simerly, her loving and devoted husband Garry Gene Martin and her brother Worley Ernest Simerly.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son and daughter-in-law Kevin W. and Jeanette Martin of Ripplemead; her grandchildren Amber Martin Jones and her husband Andy, Cory Martin and Zane Martin; her great-grandchildren Jemma Atwood, Whitt Jones and Levi Jones; her special game night friends Garnet and Theda Darnell, Arlie and Marg Flack, and Stephanie Mullins and her church family at Riverview Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted in Riverview Baptist Church, Ripplemead, Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. The family will receive friends at the church two hours before the services. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg Monday morning at 11:00 am.
