Billy Ray Kessinger, 79 of Elliston, VA departed this life July 29, 2021 under the care of hospice and his loving family.  Born in Goldbond, VA on July 18, 1942, he was a son of the late Euel Kessinger and Virgie Stevers Kessinger.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Randy Kessinger, a grandson, Billy "BJ" Havens; and brothers, Donnie Kessinger and Wilvin Kessinger.

Left to cherish his memory to their hearts are his wife, Mary Martin Kessinger; a daughter, Tammy Shultz (Mike) of Lindside, WV; sons, Rocky Kessinger (Judy) of Elliston, VA, Billy Kessinger of Elliston, VA, and Marty Kessinger of Salem, VA; a step-daughter, Sherry Havens (Gene) of Pearisburg; brothers, Roger Kessinger (Marsha) of Goldbond, and James Kessinger of Goldbond; a sister Betty Tucker; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
