Obituary

Bobby Davis Williams of Narrows, Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem. Born on July 8, 1948, in Virginia, he was a beacon of kindness and faith throughout his 77 years.

Bobby's life was rich with the love of his family. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 58 years, Nancy Williams, who was his partner in every aspect of life. Together, they raised their beloved daughter, Lisa Snell, alongside her husband Ivan. Bobby's joy was multiplied with the birth of his grandson, Matt Eaves, who with his wife Shelley, blessed him with two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Ella. His brothers, Jimmy D Williams with his wife Sandra, and Jerry Williams, along with several nieces and nephews, and special friend, Alice Hudson will hold Bobby's memory dear. He now joins his late parents, Harry and Beulah Edith Shaver Williams, and his brother, Mickey Williams, in their Heavenly Home.

Professionally, Bobby was respected and admired. He served as a supervisor in instrumentation at Poly-Scientific until his retirement in 1992. Undeterred, Bobby continued to contribute his skills, working from home doing deburr work for MOOG. His work ethic was unmatched, a trait that he and Nancy extended to their service in cleaning churches, including Pearisburg First United Methodist Church and Narrows First United Methodist Church.

Bobby's Christian faith was the cornerstone of his existence. As a dedicated member of Riverview Baptist Church, he invested time and effort into building and serving the community. His devotion was evident in the relationships he fostered, working alongside others to build new aspects whether rooms or buildings of the church, and a stronger community. Bobby's love for mowing was more than just a hobby; he took pride in mowing 19 yards, a testament to his dedication and service to others.

Family time was Bobby's greatest treasure. He embraced every moment spent with his loved ones, creating memories that they will forever cherish. His kind, faith-filled, and gentle nature made him a pillar in the lives of those he touched. Bobby's legacy is one of unwavering kindness, devout faith, and gentle guidance. He lived a life that exemplified the Christian values he held so dear, leaving a lasting impact on his family, friends, and community.

The family wish to thank their church family for all of the love and visits poured on them during this time.  A special thank you is extended for Pastor Terry Easter for his friendship and support.

The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in Riverview Baptist Church.  A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 1:00 PM in Riverview Baptist Church with Pastors Terry Easter and Tom Maurer officiating.
