Brenda Sue Caldwell Carbaugh, 82, of Pembroke, Virginia, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on October 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born and raised in Pembroke, Brenda was the beloved daughter of the late James and Annie Hilton Caldwell. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Marvin "Curley" Caldwell and Harvey Caldwell; and her sisters, Stella Kast, Marcella Williams, and Elsie Higgs.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Calvin Carbaugh; her loving sons, Troy Carbaugh (Monica) and Randy Carbaugh (Tena); her granddaughter and the apple of her eye, Courtney Sadler (Doug); her step-great-grandson, Levi Sadler; and her special sisters-in-law, Ruth Carbaugh and Betty Carbaugh.
Brenda's life was marked by unwavering faith, enduring love, and deep devotion to her family. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and steadfast trust in the Lord were evident to all who knew her. She found great comfort in watching Christian television programs, which continually renewed and strengthened her faith. Brenda also expressed her love through the meals she prepared, finding joy in cooking for family and friends and extending warm hospitality to all who gathered around her table. In quieter moments, she enjoyed working puzzles, a pastime that brought her both relaxation and satisfaction.
