Brenda Beatrice Mitchell, 81, formerly of Pembroke, Virginia, passed away on July 11, 2026, under the care of Radford Health and Rehab in Radford, Virginia. She was born on December 8, 1944, in Eggleston, Virginia, and lived a life marked by faith, devotion to family, and quiet acts of kindness that touched many hearts.Brenda was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and cherished family member whose presence brought comfort and strength to those around her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Mitchell and Elizabeth Webb, and her half-brother, Ralph Hoston. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure her memory, including her brother, Joe Webb and his wife Melissia; her sister, Linda Cunningham; her half-sister, Sherry Smith; her special sister, Lilly Michelle Wyms; and Elder Jerry Wyms. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Kayla Allen and Mark, Elisha Brandon and Tara, Isaac Brandon and Jackie, and JW Webb, along with several other cousins and God children. Brenda also held a very special place in the heart of Robin Campbell (Doug), whom she called her daughter and loved as her own family.

Brenda devoted 28 years of her working life to Celanese, where she served in production with faithfulness and dedication. Her strong work ethic and dependable nature were evident in all she did, and she was respected by those who had the privilege of working alongside her. She approached her responsibilities with humility and perseverance, qualities that reflected the character she carried throughout her life. A woman of deep faith, Brenda was a dedicated member of the Goodwill Church of God in Christ in Eggleston, Virginia. Her love for the Lord guided her steps and shaped the way she cared for others. She found joy in attending church and in assisting with church fundraisers at New Mount Olive Methodist Church in Radford. Her commitment to her faith community was a meaningful part of her life, and her service was a reflection of her generous spirit and steadfast devotion.

Brenda was also known for the many ways she cared for others in everyday life. She had a natural heart for caregiving and was always willing to help when someone needed support. She enjoyed babysitting and took great joy in being around children. Her hands were often busy with crafting, and she found peace and satisfaction in gardening and tending to flower gardens. These simple but beautiful interests brought her happiness and allowed her to share warmth and creativity with those she loved.

The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home. A funeral and homegoing service will be conducted on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 2:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home with Elder Calvin Lee officiating. Funeral services will conclude in the Eaves/Saunders Family Cemetery in Pembroke, Virginia where she will be laid to rest.
