Calvin Dean Carter "Coolie", 76 formerly of Pembroke departed this life Wednesday, June 3, 2020 in the care of Highland Ridge Rehabilitation Center. Born August 15, 1943 in Giles County, he was the son of the late Earnest Henry and Edna Neice Carter. Coolie enjoyed his life in service as a carpet installer for Giles Carpet Sales.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his brothers Barry Carter (Kathy) of Pembroke, and Henry Carter of Pembroke; sisters, Patricia Carter of Pembroke, Betty Jo Carter of Pembroke, Rebecca Blevins (Ivan) of Pembroke, Pam Frair (Curtis) of Pearisburg, Donna Shaver (Greg) of Pembroke, Tina Jackson (Jim)of Bozoo, WV; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Curtis Williams and Tobie Cumbee.
