Cardella Ruth Brown, 73, of Dublin and formerly of Giles County, departed this life Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem. Born in McComas, WV on February 8, 1935 she was a daughter of the late Charles T. and Annie Kate Lucas Manning. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James A. Brown, her son Jerry Wayne Brown, her grandsons James Ellis and Joseph Nelson Banes, her brother Charles Manning and her sisters Helen Osborne, Virgie Snider, and Sarah Pippin.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Carol and Julie Brown of the home, David and Terri Brown of Pulaski, Jamie and Nelson Banes of Max Meadows, Judy and William Hamlin of Pulaski, Barbara Kessinger of Glasgow, Debbie and Richard Zirbel of Hurricane, WV, Ronnie and Bonnie Brown of Christiansburg; her sister Ella Mae Day of Goldbond; her brother Dewey Manning of Goldbond; her thirteen grandchildren, her eighteen great-grandchildren; her special pet and friend Sam Brown.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Dwight Hanes and Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
