Carl Douglas Collins II

With broken hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Carl Douglas Collins Jr., who entered eternal rest on February 14, 2026, at the age of 44.

Born on August 15, 1981, Carl was originally from Giles and Tazewell County, carrying his Appalachian roots with pride throughout his life. He later made his home in Myrtle Beach, where he built a life centered around love, loyalty, and family.

Carl was a devoted and loving husband of 6 years to Brittany Elizabeth (Smith) Collins of Myrtle Beach, SC. Their love was strong, faithful, and unwavering. He was a proud and protective father to his three daughters: Payton Michelle Collins (Larry Brown) of Tazewell, VA; Haleigh Brooke Montaigne (Dustin Montaigne) of Tazewell, VA; and AlleighAnn Cynthia Marie Collins of Myrtle Beach, SC. His girls were his world, and he loved them fiercely beyond measure.

He was also a proud grandfather to six beautiful grandchildren: Audrey, Avery, Addalee, Joshlynn, Everleigh, and Carter. Becoming “Papaw” was one of his greatest joys, and nothing meant more to him than time spent with his grandchildren.

Carl is survived by his loving mother, Dorothy Lynn Adkins (James Adkins) of Pearisburg, VA; his father, Carl Douglas Collins Sr. of Narrows, VA; his brother, Randy Collins; and his grandmother, Alice Faye Kibler of Pearisburg, VA. He is also survived by his step-sister, Jessica Lynn Adkins Miller (Shawn Miller) of Bluefield, VA; James Everette Adkins Jr. of Peterstown, WV; and his step-grandmother, Linda Thompson Adkins. He leaves behind his aunt, Michelle Martin (Matt Martin) of Pearisburg, VA, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Corbett Collins; his grandmother, Gerthie Snider Collins; his grandfathers, Daniel Corbett Collins Sr., and Jesse Herbert Blankenship; his step-grandfather, Everette Lee Adkins; his great-grandmother, Julie Sheppard Dalton; and his great-grandfather, Robert Roscoe Dalton.

Carl was a proud fan of the Dallas Cowboys and rarely missed a game. Whether celebrating victories or standing by them during tough seasons, his loyalty never wavered. He loved playing basketball, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends, but nothing ever came before his family or God.

Carl Douglas Collins Jr. will be remembered as a strong and faithful husband, a loving father and grandfather, a devoted son and brother, and a loyal friend. His laughter, strength, and protective spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Though our hearts are shattered, we find comfort knowing his love surrounds us still. His legacy lives on in his children, grandchildren, and in the countless memories he gave us. He was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed, forever and always.
