Carson Leroy Martin, 73, of Hiwassee and formerly of Pembroke, departed this life Wednesday evening, September 30, 2015, at Pulaski Health and Rehab in Pulaski after a long illness due to strokes. Born in Pembroke on November 26, 1941, he was a son of the late Luther and Lyda Young O'Dell Martin. He was an accomplished horseman, was employed with Fralin and Waldron before his disability, was a 1960 graduate of Pembroke High School and had completed several college courses. He was preceded in death by his sisters Lorraine Whittaker, Shirley Johnson, Madeline Martin, Bonnie Martin; his half-brothers Tom O'Dell and Franklin Chester O'Dell and his half-sister Coletta O'Dell.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Betty Bolling Martin; his sons "Chuck" Carson L Martin of Hiwassee and Jerry Lee Martin of Pulaski; his daughter Tonya Burton of Pearisburg; his step-daughters Jenni Price and Jodi Price of Christiansburg; his sisters Frances Thornhill of Pembroke, Betty Marrs of Herndon and Libbie Taylor of Nevada; his ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 2 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
