Charlene Rose Amelong Sharpe, 90 of Pembroke Virginia departed this life January 17, 2022 to enter into her Heavenly home in the care of her family and Heritage Hall-Blacksburg.  Born in Kentucky on September 23, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Emil and Nellie Amelong.

A Pembroke Corncutter, Charlene would prove faithful to conduct business and loving her family.  Through work, Charlene provided as a clerk for the Town of Pembroke.  She also provided for her family through the work of her hands in painting and crochet.

In addition to her parents, Charlene is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Sharpe and a daughter, Emily Johnston.

Left to cherish her memory to their hearts are her son, Glen Sharpe and his wife, Vickie of Kentucky; daughter, Annette Widrig and her husband, Scott of Pembroke; Grandchildren, Jennifer Combs, Crystal Pigman, and Joseph Widrig; and great-grandchildren, Dawson Barnett, Grant Pigman, and Emma Pigman.

There will be a funeral service conducted for Mrs. Sharpe on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel.  Services will conclude in Birchlawn Burial Park.
