Charles Richard Martin, age 71, of Salem and formerly of Pearisburg, passed away, Friday, October 3, 2014 in a local hospital. He was retired from Catawba Hospital and was director of Roanoke-Botetourt Farm Tours. He loved working on the farms in Catawba and throughout his life in other areas. He was born in Pearisburg, VA to the late, Dick S. and Mabel Kellison Martin. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Martin Dunn and brother, Roger Martin.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Kast Martin, three children, Carol Martin, Rick Martin and Mark Martin, mother-in-law, Helen C. Kast, all of Salem, a brother-in-law, Hobart K. "Sonny" Dunn, Staunton, VA; a very close friend, A.W. Martin of Roanoke and a host of other family.

A service of remembrance will be conducted at Kendall Funeral Home Chapel, 605 Snidow St. Pembroke, Va., 6:00 pm, Monday, October 6, 2014 with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating.
