Obituary

Claude Early Galliher, 84, of Ripplemead and recently of Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek passed away Thursday November 15, 2007 at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Saltville on August 29, 1923 he was a son of the late Jesse A. and Dessie Helton Galliher. Mr. Galliher was a veteran of WW II, U S Army, and was retired from the Celanese Celco Plant with forty-four years service. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brotherWilliam Jennings Galliher of Salem and a brother-in-law Leroy Fisher.



He is survived by his wife Dorothy Johnston Galliher of Ripplemead; two daughters Judy Morris of Bane and Patsy Galliher of Pearisburg; one son Larrry W. Galliher of Maybrook; a son-in-law Ronnie E. Morris of Bane; a daughter-in-law Julie R. Galliher of Maybrook; four grandchildren Stephen Morris and Sarah Morris of Bane, Matthew Galliher of Rocky Mount, Emily Galliher of Maybrook; five great-grandchildren; two sisters Velma G. Fisher of Christiansburg, Marie Snider of Salem, a brother-in-law Howard Snider of Salem and a sister-in-law Jessie M. Galliher of Salem; good friends Kenny B. Dowell and Billy Kirk both of Pearisburg, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.



Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, November 18, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services. The family requests that flowers be omitted and contributions be made to Giles County Bible Bus, P O Box 538, Pembroke, Va 24136 or Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Street, New York, NY 1001.
