Obituary

Clyde Ranolph Perdue, 68, of Maybrook Community, Pembroke, departed this life Thursday morning, October 23, 2014 at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg after a long illness. Born in Christiansburg on November 28, 1945 he was a son of the late Houston Thomas and Margie Morehead Perdue. Clyde was a veteran of the U S Army, retired for the United States Postal Service, and professionally installed carpeting and enjoyed farming. He was a member of Lucas Memorial Christian Church in Maybrook. Preceding him in death were his parents, and his brothers Gale and Raymond Perdue.



He leaves to cherish his memory his faithfully devoted wife Dorothy Atkins Perdue; his sons Randal Scott Perdue and his wife Sandra Salmon Perdue of Pembroke, and Neal Travis Perdue of Pembroke; his grandson to whom he was totally devoted, Skylar Justice Perdue ( Clyde called him Buddie Roe); his brothers Glenn Perdue and wife Frances, Bernard Perdue and his sisters Margaret Roark and Kim, Hattie Sue and husband David Dove all of Christiansburg; his beloved father and mother-in-law Warren (June) and Dora Atkins of Maybrook, and his very special friend, brother-in-law, and caregiver, Larry D. Atkins of Maybrook and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.



Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Westview Cemetery in Blacksburg, with graveside military honors by American Legion Posts 311, 68, 145 and VFW Post 6000. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
