Connie Elizabeth Athey, 55, of Compton Lane in Pearisburg departed this life Wednesday morning June 27, 2007 at her home. Born on December 23, 1951 in Montgomery Co., Va she was a daughter of Dorothy Hutchison Price of Pembroke and the late William C. Price. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 6000 in Narrows.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, her daughter Cristy Leigh Athey of Princeton, WV; her granddaughter Justin Rain Openshaw ( Little Beepie); nine brothers and sisters Peggy and Leonard Poff of Elliston, Bobby and Kay Price of Pearisburg, Barbara and Bill Johnson of Pembroke, Joey and Kathy Price of Pembroke, Pam and Randy Bryant of Salem, Davy Lee Price of Pembroke, H. C. and Cheryl Price of Pembroke, Tammy and W. A. Hudson of Pembroke, Timothy Price of Christiansburg; and special friends Fred Corder, Linda Leigh, Leon Athey; many nieces and nephews; and great-neices and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 PM in Level Green Christian Church in Craig County with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery near the church. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
