Curtis Lemnel Sarver, 71, of Newport departed this life Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born in Maybrook on March 6, 1941, he was a son of the late Prentice L. and Virginia Carbaugh Sarver. He was a carpenter by trade. A brother Howard "Tuck" Sarver preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Shirley Price Sarver; a son and daughter-in-law Michael and Patricia Sarver of Newport; a daughter and son-in-law Veronica Sarver and Timothy Rexrode of Roanoke; a sister Beatrice S. Hypes of Blacksburg; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 am in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
