Dallas Leon Chapman, 55, of Pembroke, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, July 26, 2011 at the home of Madeline and Donnie King, his caregivers. Born in Pembroke on January 7, 1956, he was a son of the late Lillian Chapman. Dallas had been employed at Virginia Tech and at the Celanese Plant at Narrows. He was a veteran of the U S Army and was preceded in death by his brother, Calvin Curtis Chapman.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved nieces and nephews CC, Maceo, Lea, Derrick and Donna; his uncle and aunt James Edward Chapman of Pembroke and Glenna Dickerson of Pearisburg; his cousins and caregivers Donnie and Madeline King; and a host of other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
