Daril Edward Harvey, a devoted family man and skilled tile finisher, passed away on June 18, 2026, in his hometown of Newport, Virginia, just one day after his 77th birthday. Born on June 17, 1949, in Newport, Daril lived a life marked by dedication to his craft and love for his family, leaving behind a legacy cherished by all who knew him.

Daril's career as a tile finisher was complemented by his passions as a carpenter and farmer, reflecting a life immersed in craftsmanship and the nurturing of the land. His talents and work ethic earned him respect and admiration in his community and among those fortunate to work alongside him.

He is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Dorothy Whittaker Harvey; his son, Daril Harvey Jr.; and his daughter, Tonya Harvey Pauley (LJ Goad). He took great pride in his grandchildren—Adrianna Dalton (Shane Dalton), Jacob Pauley, Isabella Harvey, and Zoey Goad—and joyfully embraced his role as a great-grandfather to eight precious children, with another great-grandchild on the way. Daril’s family circle also includes his brother Robert Harvey and wife Barbara, his sister Patricia Dowdy and husband Larry, sister-in-law, Debbie Harvey, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Daril was preceded in death by his parents, Hobert James Harvey and Gladys Meredith Rock, and by his brother Tucker Harvey.
