Darrell Thomas McDanel, 61, of Dublin and formerly of Pearisburg departed this life peacefully at his home Thursday, September 12, 2013. Born in Radford on September 22, 1951 he was a son of the late Thomas Henry and Frances Kirtner McDaniel. Darrell was retired from a career in the U S Navy, was a Christian ministry worker having worked in the Pentecostal Holiness Church, The Church of God and The Assemblies of God and with several independent Pentecostal churches. He was an exceptional bass player and enjoyed working in Gospel Music. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard McDaniel.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Carol Rorrer McDaniel of Little Creek, Dublin; his daughter and son-in-law Christole M. and Gary Hartwell of Pearisburg and Anglea M. Thomas of Pulaski; his sons Brian McDaniel of Radford and Kevin McDaniel of Washington, DC; his sister and brother-in-law Teresa and Ricky Dishon of Dublin; his grandchildren Brandon McDaniel, McKayla McDaniel, Courtney McDaniel, and Destiny Poole.

Funeral services were private at the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke. Following cremation burial was in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
