Obituary

Dewey Franklin Manning, 72, of Goldbond departed this life Wednesday July 29, 2009. Born in McComas, West Virginia on April 12, 1937, he was a son of the late Charles Taylor Manning and Annie Kate Lucas Manning. Dewey was raised in the faith of the Olean Church of the Brethren, was proud to be a member of Eggleston Lodge No.309 AF & AM, had worked as a foreman at A P Green Lime Co Kimballton Plant and RAAP. He was preceded in death by his son Steve Edwin Manning, his brother Charles Henry Manning and his sisters Sarah Pippin, Virgie Snider, Helen Osborne, and Cardella Brown.



He leaves to cherish his memory his son and daughter-in-law Bryan and Sherry Manning of Goldbond; his daughter and son-in-law Pamela M. and William Davis of Cashmere, WV; his sister Ella Mae and husband Dewey Day of Big Stony Creek; his brother Ricky Manning of Pembroke; grandchildren Tammy, Crystal, Jessica, Crystal, Chris, Josh, Del, and a special little granddaughter Sarah Anne; his for great-grandchildren; his two great-great-grandchildren; his sisters-in-law Annie Manning of Ohio, Geanette Rust of Saltville, Vivian and Ralph Simmons of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several beloved nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 AM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 to 8 PM. A Masonic Service will be conducted at 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
