Dianne Lynn Blankenship, 53, of Pembroke, departed this life Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. She was born in Annapolis, Maryland on December 31, 1957. Dianne was employed at Virginia Tech as a Senior Administrative Assistant and had belonged to the Pearisburg Moose Lodge. She was preceded in death by her mother Ethel Walker Shrader, her step-father Bob Shrader, her husband Sherman Fisher, her step-sons Greg and Wayne Fisher.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted son and his fiancé B. Cory Fisher and Kim Brown of Arlington, VA; her step-daughter Teri Fisher and Wayne Munsey of Pearisburg; her step-daughter Danielle East; her companion for the last nine years Daniel Burleson of Pembroke ; and a special cousin Elaine O'Connor of Royal Palm Beach, Florida.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, Thursday evening from six until eight pm.
