Dorothy Elizabeth Vaught, 64 of Sinking Creek Road, Pembroke died Monday, October 15, 2012 at her residence.

Born in Giles County on March 26, 1948 she was the daughter of the late Daniel Jessie and Mary Elizabeth Lawson Whittaker. She previously worked for Pulaski Furniture.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, James Michael Combs and five siblings, Sidney, David, Nellie, Rosie and Dolly.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Daniel Vaught. One daughter, Sherry Albert and her husband Rory of Pearisburg. Two Grandchildren William and Phillip of Thaxton, Virginia. Two brothers, James Whittaker and Clayton Whittaker both of Ripplemead. One Sister, Lena Rucker also of Ripplemead. Several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Rev. Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in the Gordon Cemetery, Pearisburg The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1pm until the service hour.
