Drema Jo Williams Caldwell, 56, of Salem departed this life Monday, March 17, 2008 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem after battling chronic lung disease. She was born in Giles County on September 18, 1951.

Her entire career was spent as a Registered Nurse at Roanoke Memorial Hospital and Lewis-Gale Medical Center. As indicated by the many doctors and nurses that worked with her and who visited her in the hospital, she was a strong and incredible nurse. She was not only knowledgeable, but always looked out for the patient's well being. In the end, she found herself being the one in need of care.

Her hobbies were her roses, cross stitching, knitting and most of all her grandchildren.

She is survived by her mother Josephine Sadler Johnston of Pembroke; her sons Chris Caldwell and his girlfriend Emily Tribble both of Radford and Ernie Caldwell and his wife Becky, granddaughter Madison and grandson Clay all of Salem.

Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 2:00 PM in The Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2:00 PM before the services. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
