Eleanor Elizabeth Meadows, 63, of Peterstown and formerly of Goldbond, departed this life Tuesday evening March 10, 2009 at Springfield Center in Lindside, WV after a long illness. Born in Giles County on March 19, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Gerthie Snider Collins. She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie A. Meadows, two brothers Daniel C. Collins and Randy R. Collins and a step-son Howard Meadows.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Matthew Hare of Peterstown; her step-children Dwight Meadows of NC , Grover A. Meadows of Rich Creek, Mildred C. Fortner of Peterstown, and Carolyn H. Humphries of Glen Lynn; several grandchildren; her brothers and sisters Ray Collins of Pembroke, Bert Collins of Blacksburg, Carl Collins of Narrows, Nita Jean Meadows of Rich Creek, Judy Collins of Radford, and Mary Jane Austin of Dublin.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke. In keeping with Eleanor's wishes her body was cremated. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
