ELLA RHEA HAMBLIN, 74, formerly of Pembroke and lately of Wytheville departed this life Saturday evening, July 9, 2016 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke. Born in Pembroke on August 31, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Robert Bernard, Sr. and Louvenia Carter Hamblin. Ella Rhea was a 1960 graduate of Pembroke High School, was retired from RAAP with 29 years service and had also worked at Virginia Tech and Federal Mogul. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Addie H Rose (the late Richard), her brothers Glenn Miller Hamblin (the late Charlene), Melvin Tuck (the late Betty) and nephews Ricky Rose and Dean Hamblin.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Landon Saferight of Wytheville and her brother and sister-in-law R B Jr. and Alice S. Hamblin of Pembroke; her cherished nieces and nephews Linda C Carter (the late Charles), Junior Hamblin (Kathy), David Rose (Louise), Cammie Johnson (Brian), Jennifer Campbelll (Dwayne) and Jeanette McGuire (Johnny); several great-nieces and nephews; and her special buddy Angie (her canine friend).

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St, Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
