ELSIE MARIE HYPES,89,of Newport,departed this life Friday morning, April 29, 2016,in the care of Heritage Hall in Blacksburg surrounded by her loving daughter and son-in-law,and her grandson Matt and his wife Amanda and great-grandchildren Eli and Hannah. Born in Radford, VA on September 4, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Lace L and Mary Barker Earles. She was retired after twenty years as a realtor, was a member of United Christian Church in Radford, she spent many hours arrangeing for her class reunions to be very special, and volunteered for over ten years Lewis-Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg. She preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Lloyd Hypes, Sr.,her brothers Lacy Earles Jr. and Henry Harrison Earles.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law and caregiver Elsie and Larry Sarver of Newport, Barbara and Phil Quesenberry of NC; her son Robert L Hypes,jr of Blacksburg; her brothers Maurce Earles of Smith Mt Lake,her brother William Barker Earles of Dublin, her sister Patricia Ann Moses of Floyd; her five grandchildren, her six great-grandchildren,and her one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday,May 3, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Unity Christian Church in Radford with Pastor Wendy Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church after the services. The Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke is in charge of the arrangements.
