Emma Eloise McCroskey, 88, formerly of Pearisburg and now of Covington, departed this life Tuesday, February 19, 2019, in the care of Brian Center Alleghany in Low Moor. Born in Pearisburg on August 15, 1930 she was a daughter of the late Hayden and Ida Smith Doyle. Emma was the owner-operator of Ritsches Dry Cleaners and Laundry Mat in Covington. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell G. McCroskey (59 yrs at time of his death) with whom she operated the business until his death.

She leaves to cherish her memory her eight nieces and one nephew: Linda D Baker (Wallace) of Ripplemead, Richard Cecil Doyle of Pearisburg, Elva Douthat (Frankie) of Newport, Terry Doyle of Chester, Barbara (John) Hruska of MN, Betty Doyle of MD, Nancy Doyle of TN, Kay Belvin of Bena, and Lana Tapp of MO, and a host of friends and loyal customers.

The family is very grateful for the care and affection given Emma during her extended illness from sitters Gaylene Criddle and Tonya Harris, caregivers Cristy Williams and Richard Bowyer and the staff at Brian Center Alleghany.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:30 am in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Park in Pearisburg. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com
