Ethan Avant Maurice Greer, a cherished son, brother, and friend, passed away on November 23, 2025, in Newport, Virginia. Born on June 28, 2002, in Montgomery County, Virginia, Ethan's brief journey was marked by an infectious zeal for life, a warm heart, and an unquenchable curiosity.

Ethan was the beloved son of Edward and Valerie Lane, and Amy Lewis. He grew up surrounded by the love and laughter of his sisters Jadelynn, Kaylee, Madison, Paisley, Brianna, and Hannah. Though he was preceded in death by his guardian angel, Patricia "Patty" Broyles, her spirit and guidance continued to shine through Ethan's actions and aspirations.

A proud graduate of Giles High School's class of 2020, Ethan's passion for athleticism was evident in his commitment to track and cross country. His dedication to the sport not only honed his competitive edge but also instilled in him the virtues of discipline and teamwork.

Ethan was a man of diverse interests. History was not just a subject he loved but a lens through which he viewed the world, understanding its complexities and learning from its lessons. His joy for gaming, building computers, and competitive speed cubes spoke of a mind that relished challenges and intellectual stimulation. An avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Ethan's loyalty and enthusiasm for his team were as steadfast as his support for the people he loved.

The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Friday, November 28, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be conducted Friday, November 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Williams Family Cemetery with Pastor Stuart Davis officiating.  A guestbook is available to send condolences to the family by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com.  The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the family and friends of Mr. Greer.
