Ethel Jane Sarver, 97, of Sinking Creek Crossing, Newport, (Craig Co.) departed this life Wednesday morning, January 25, 2012 at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek. Born in Giles County on May 31, 1914, she was a daughter of the late William Joseph and Minnie Myrtle Kirk Robertson. She was a beloved Mother to her whole family and a member of Gravel Hill Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilmer Sarver, her grandson Leonard Gregory Sarver, her great-grandson Benjamin Joseph Sarver and her great-great-grandchildren Harlie Gayle and Christopher Thomas Howard.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons and daughters-in-law Ernest Watson (Jiggs) and Janice Sarver of Craig Springs, Wilmer Jr. (Duke) and Bonnie Sarver of Newport; her daughters and son-in-law Elma Jane Layman of Roanoke, Stella Mae and Franklin Lafon of Goodview; her fourteen grandchildren, her eighteen great-grandchildren, and her ten great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in the Williams Cemetery in Craig County.
