Eunice Mae Thorne, 82, of Pearisburg, departed this life Saturday afternoon, November 2, 2013 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Giles County on February 19, 1931 she was a daughter of the late Ernest Lee and Pansy French Lucas. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Lawrence Thorne, her brother Charles Lucas, her sister-in-law Elizabeth Lucas, her sister Christine Dent, her grandson Jason Thorne, and her granddaughter Courtney Thorne. She raised her family in the blessings of the Church of God of Prophecy in Narrows.

She leaves to cherish her memory her nine children, Roger and Debbie Thorne of Narrows, Rebecca Thorne of Salem, Deborah and Roger Bobbitt of Vinton, Steve Thorne of Narrows, Tommy and Eva Thorne of Pearisburg, Sandra and Troy Tribbett of Vinton, Tony and Shelly Thorne of Salem, Regina and Grayson St. Clair of Narrows, Ricky Thorne of Narrows; her twenty-eight grandchildren and her numerous great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 3:00 pm in Fairview Cemetery at Narrows. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, after 1:30, before the service. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
