Eva Estelle Saunders, 87, of Craig County and lately of Richfield in Salem, departed this life Sunday morning, February 10, 2013 at Richfield. Born in Craig County on October 14, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Robert Marion and Hallie Huffman Hughes. She was also preceded in death by her husband William Darnell Saunders, her sons Rev. Marion D. Saunders and Michael W. Saunders.

She leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren Michaela Saunders, Magen Saunders, Christine Uryinack (Bob), Susan Davis (Jimmy), Robert Saunders, Daniel Saunders; ten great-grandchildren Jessica and Andrew Cunningham, Stephen, Sarah, Hannah, Grace, Jonathan, Daniel and Rachel Davis, Parker Saunders; brother Harold Gene and his wife Jo Hughes of Salem, sisters Ileta Huffman of Newport, Alveta Patton of New Castle, and Loretta and her husband Tom Allison of Sharpsburg, GA.

The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, Tuesday from 1 until 2 pm. A graveside service will follow in the Williams Cemetery in Craig County. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
