Evelyn Irene Price Whittaker, 89, of Roanoke and formerly of Giles County, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke. Born in Blacksburg on April 16, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Erma Criner Price. She was preceded in death by her husband Elias Whittaker and three brothers.

She is survived by two sons Donald (Patty) Whittaker of Giles County and Ronald (Anita) Whittaker of Shawsville; four daughters Brenda (Floyd) Gilmer of Vinton, Linda Conley of Virginia Beach, Marlene (Steve) Fields of Bedford and Patricia (Stephen) Radford of Floyd Co.; one brother Ed Price of Salem and two sisters Ethel Kessinger of Blacksburg and Mary Edith Rogers of Roanoke; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in the Gordon Cemetery on Guinea Mt.
