Frances Ellen Carter, 78 of Maiden Lane in Roanoke and formerly of Giles Co. died Tuesday morning January 25, 2005 at her home. Born in Oakvale, WV on February 7, 1926 she was a daughter of the late Roy and Catherine Camden Dove. Frances had been employed at K-Mart as a deli manager. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Floyd Carter, her son Gary Lee Carter, her brother Buddy Dove and her sister Margie Hudson.

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter and son-in-law Kathy C. and Cleveland Tate of Narrows; a son Robert W. Carter of Pearisburg; a sister Evelyn Weddle of Roanoke; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted Thursday evening at 7:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke. The family will receive friends before the services from 6 until 7 PM at the funeral home.
