FRANKLIN DOUGLAS BARTLEY "Doug", 81, of Daleville and formerly of Pearisburg departed this life Saturday morning, January 7, 2017 at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, VA. Born in Pearisburg on July 5, 1935 he was a son of the late Frank and Gertrude Hull Bartley. He was retired from the Newport News Shipyard, and was a veteran of the U S Army. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter Samantha Bartley, and his brother Donald J Bartley.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Marilyn Marcelle Miller Bartley; his son Brent Bartley; his daughter Pamela Kincaid; his step-daughters April Jarrell (Billy), June Finley (Larry); his step-son Austin Day (Phyllis); his sisters Rowena Worrell (Allen) and Patty Wilkerson; his brother Ronnie Bartley (Jean); his grandchildren Casey Bartley, Courtney Wagner, Trevor Hulvey; his step-grandchildren Katie Jarrell, Austin Haulbrook, Erin Flores, Bethany Hille; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 12, 2017, at 1:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with The Rev Todd Stiffler and Katie Jarrell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the services. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
