FRANKLIN D. BLANKENSHIP, 71, of Ed B Drive on Blankenship Mt at Narrows, departed this life Saturday morning, August 6, 2016 at his home. Born at home on September 5, 1944, he was a son on the late Clarence William and Amy Davis Blankenship. He was a 1964 graduate of Narrows High School and earned his living as a carpenter on construction. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lucille B. Wood and his brother James "Tad" Blankenship.

He leaves to cherish his memory his niece and caregiver Amanda Blankenship of Narrows; his sister and brother-in-law Lois and Everette Martin of Narrows; his brothers and sisters-in-law Carl "Pete" and Phyllis Blankenship of Narrows, Paul Blankenship of Narrows, David and Freda A. Blankenship of Narrows; his ten other nieces and nephews; and his special canine buddy and friend, JR.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 pm in Bethel Chapel at Clendennin near Narrows with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Angels Rest Memory Gardens on Fletchers Mt. at Narrows. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the services. The Kendall Funeral Home at Pembroke is in charge of the arrangements.
