Fred Gregory Rogers, 56, of the Goodwin's Ferry Community at Newport departed this life Friday morning November 7, 2008 at his home. Born in Pearisburg on October 6, 1952 he was a son of the late Fred J. and Kathleen Vaught Rogers. He was employed as a mechanic with Simpson Construction Co. in Dublin. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, half-sisters Lettie Hamblin and Erma Paxton, half-brothers James, Calvin, Ervin, and Harold Rogers and Steve Vaught.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters and son-in-law Tina Renee and Reyno Sanchez of Sparta, NC, Karen Kathleen Rogers of Fancy Gap, VA and Cassandra Jean Rogers of Fancy Gap, VA; his granddaughters Jennifer Nicole Sanchez and Cristina Maria Sanchez; his sister and brother-in-law Marcia and Ronnie Taylor of Newport; his sister-in-law Remona Vaught; his good friends Jane, Oren, and Jeff Martin; his nephews and niece David, Eric, and Jonathan Taylor and Melanie Taylor.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 10, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in the Croy Cemetery at Goodwin's Ferry.
