"Fred" Frederick Edward Egemeier, 64, of Ponderosa Road, Pembroke, departed this life Friday evening, April 10, 2015 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem after a long illness. Born in Ossining, NY on April 11, 1950, he was a son of the late Frederick and Carolyn Johnson Egemeier. Fred was a veteran of the U S Army (Viet Nam Era), and was a graduate of Paul Smith's College in New York, He was an avid fly fisherman, was studying to become a luthier at the time of his death, and had earned his living in various paths of the building trades.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Lisa Hamilton Egemeier; his aunts Pamela Cadmus of Floyd Co, and Phyllis Antini of Blacksburg; his cousins Mark Camberarie of NY and Tom Camberarie of MA. ; his friends Roy and Candy Fortier, Liz and Dennis Szabo, and Linda Miller; his beloved Labrador Retriever, Brenda; and many other dear friends.
