George William "GW" Keffer, Jr., 63, of Mason Court Drive in Pearisburg, departed this life at his home Saturday afternoon, June 18, 2011. Born in Giles County on December 24, 1947, he was a son of George W. "Buddy" Keffer, Sr. of Pembroke and the late Virginia Martin Keffer. He was a retired paper carrier for The Roanoke Times and a veteran of the U S Army.

He leaves to cherish his memory his father; his sons "Billy" G W Keffer, III of Pearisburg, "Andy" Andrew Lewis Keffer of Christiansburg; his daughter Amy Love Dobbins of Lerona, WV; his brother and his fiancé "Chuck" Joe Keffer and Judy Cheek of Pembroke; his grandchildren Brittany Nicole Lucas, Carie Jo Lucas, Joshua Anderson, and Haley Keffer; and his great granddaughter Sophia Noel Lucas.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
