George Everett Morgan, Jr., 73, of Roanoke and formerly of Goldbond, departed this life at his home Saturday afternoon, July 25, 2009. Born at Kerns (now Goldbond) on July 1, 1936 he was a son of the late Reefa Reed Morgan and George E. Morgan, Sr. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and as a youth in Olean Church of The Brethren. He was a veteran of the U S Air Force and had retired as Vice President of Materials for Syracuse Chinaware Co.

He is survived by his wife Judith Parmer Morgan; his sons Ronald Lee Morgan of Columbia, SC, Bruce Allen Morgan of Woodruff, SC, and Jeffrey Eugene Morgan of Wylie, TX; his brothers Harvey Morgan of Lynchburg and Richard Morgan of Goode; and his two grandsons.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 12:00 Noon in the Piedmont Cemetery at Shawsville with his nephew Tim Moser officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4335 Cox Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
