HAROLD DEAN DOWDY, 60, of Newport, departed this life Friday, February 24, 2017, at his home. Harold was a carpenter, and enjoyed the outdoor life of fishing, hunting, and camping out in the woods and along the rivers. He was a son of Claude "Jack" Dowdy of Newport and the late Mary Wilson Cumbee Dowdy. He is also survived by his daughters Summer Ramsey and Lindsay Dowdy both of Christiansburg; his grand children Brady and Noah; his sisters Sylvia J Stump and her husband Donnie L. Stump of Newport, Melissa Vanhoozier and her husband Mike Vanhoozier of Newport, and Sandy Dowdy of Newport.
