Hazel Jean Smith Kirk, 85 of Pembroke, VA departed this life to enter into the gates of Heaven with her Heavenly Father on October 20, 2022 in the care of Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital.  Born in Giles County, VA on July 31, 1937 she was a daughter of the late Jim and Mary Spangler Smith.

Hazel loved her family and loved listening to a good gospel song and going to a good Yard Sale and Dollywood.

In addition to her parents Hazel is preceded in death by her husbands, Frank "Peg" Snider and Jim Kirk; and brothers, Emmett Smith, James Smith, and George Smith.

Left to cherish her memory are a son, Marshall Snider (Mary) of Pembroke; daughter, Barbara Darnell (Gary) of Ripplemead; granddaughter, Melissa Woods; step-granddaughter, Sabrina McMillan; and great-grandchildren, Mykale Woods, and Michael Woods.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate the life of Hazel on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 7:00 PM with Pastors Eddie Kendall and Shahn Wilburn officiating at Riverview Baptist Church.  Family will receive friends at Riverview Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM.  A guestbook is available by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com .  The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the Kirk family.
