Hazel Virginia Neice, 89, of Pembroke and formerly of Goldbond, departed this life Tuesday November 4, 2008 at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek after a long illness. Born in Kimballton on July 16, 1919 she was a daughter of the late Michael and Effie Jennings Stevers. She was a devout Christian and had been a member of the Goldbond Gospel Tabernacle and attended the Evangelistic Holiness Chapel in Pembroke as long as she was able. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Howard Neice, a grandson William Douglas Neice, and several sisters and a brother.

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter Jane Blevins Neice of Glen Burnie, MD; four grandchildren Janet Robertson of Richmond, Kathy Hill of Glen Burnie, MD, Billy Wayne Neice of Pasadena, MD, and Melissa VansKiver of Glen Burnie, MD; thirteen great-grandchildren, twenty-one great-great-grandchildren, a special grand-niece Rosetta (Sissy) Neice of Ripplemead and a foster child Paul Junior Neice.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
